Over sixty-five years ago, a team of dedicated airmen took part in Operation Manna. Flying in Lancaster and Mosquito bombers, they braved the skies of the German-occupied Netherlands to drop food supplies into Dutch towns and villages. Join in these activities to remember this difficult time, and the courage of these airmen and the Dutch people.
Young visitors can meet under the nose of the Museum's Lancaster bomber for the story of the Lancaster named “Bad Penny” which flew the first food drop of Operation Manna in 1945. They'll also meet ”Pilot Bob,” host of the Museum's parachute candy drop!
